The debut film of director Aditya Dhar, Uri is based on the surgical air strikes India did on Pakistan as the answer to the Uri attacks. This film stars the versatile Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal and the stunning Yami Gautam in lead roles. Releasing on January 2019 combined with the track record of Vicky Kaushal in Bollywood, I can already predict the huge success of the movie right here, right now.

4. Thackeray:

An epic biopic slated to release in the first month of January, Thackeray is the true biography of Shiv Sena founder, Bal Thackeray. The script has been written by Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut and the film has been directed by Abhijit Panse. Nothing could, however, excite audiences further than the announcement that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be playing the lead role, the role of Thackeray. We are only waiting to see how the king of versatility attracts the audience this time.

Cheat India is another hard-hitting film targeting some major issues in the Indian education system. Emraan Hashmi is playing the role of the forerunner of a cheating mafia, a group of people who take exams instead of the actual students to make them get good ranks. The plot sounds promising indeed as the film takes on the Indian mass on the 25th of January, a day before Republic Day.

Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut return together onscreen with the psychological thriller, Mental Hai Kya? And this will be nothing like their previous endeavor together. From the first looks and posters, Kangana and Rajkummar are being seen in roles we have never seen before. Taglined “Crazy is the new cool”, we suspect this will be one of the most outrageous films of next year.
